About Us
Welcome to Milton Fire and Rescue
Milton Fire and Rescue is dedicated to safeguarding a population of 3,500 residents within an expanse of approximately 65 square miles. Our jurisdiction extends to 25 miles along the Ohio River, and through a partnership with Bedford Fire & Rescue, we collectively cover around 150 square miles across the county. Our operations are based out of two stations, primarily serving a rural community. Established in 1964, Milton Fire and Rescue is situated along the Ohio River, directly across from Madison, Indiana, and equidistant between Louisville, Kentucky, and Cincinnati, Ohio. As a non-taxing 501(c)(3) organization, we rely on community fundraising, subscriptions, and donations for our operational funding. Additionally, Station #2 houses the Air Methods Medical Helicopter, known as Kentucky 11, which operates from a base that includes living quarters, a landing pad, and a hangar, all of which are located on our leased property.
